The Visitor Centre of the Hagelandse Wijn is located in the former town hall of Wezemaal. This is not just any building. It is a beautiful example of bourgeois neo-Gothic architecture. It was built in 1898 and the architect was none other than the famous Pieter Langerock. In 2005 the building was restored and furnished as a 'Visitor Centre of Hageland wine'. In the exhibition space you will discover how this hilly landscape of the Hageland originated. The interesting model lets you know the region around the Wijngaardberg. In addition to tourist information, everything is told here about the viticulture in Wezemaal and the Hageland. In the vaulted basement, the former 'cachot', a wine cellar was set up by the non-profit association Steenen Muur, the association of winegrowers of the Wijngaardberg. Here groups can taste the Wezemaal wine made from the various grape varieties that are planted in the Hageland: Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Dornfelder.
