The monastery was built in 1923 to replace the monastery in the center of Moorslede that was destroyed in WWI. The monastery is constructed in regionalist neo-Gothic style, typical of the reconstruction after WWI. After the reconstruction, it also served as an internationally renowned girls' boarding school, with various rooms still in their original state. The crown jewel of the monastery is the chambrettes on the attic floor, which are still completely intact, a rarity in the region. The buildings come to life through various stories and anecdotes from the school and monastery past.
