When the waiting basin has been filled and the threat of flooding has subsequently been restored, the water must of course be able to flow out of the waiting basin. That happens here, in the Zwarte Beek. In 2013, VMM designed a new route for the Grote Leigracht because the existing loop had too little capacity. When discharging the water from the basin, the water levels of the Zwarte Beek are taken into account. If it is too high, discharge is waited until the water in the Zwarte Beek has dropped sufficiently.
This outlet also ensures that when the outer basin fills, the water level does not become too high. Due to a too high water level, the water of the Leugenbeek would rise and the center of Webbekom would be flooded. This function is therefore the same as what we described at the inlet K24.
