In 1895 the Congregation of Saint Joseph of Clermont-Ferrand bought many buildings to care for mentally ill women. It also housed a primary school for girls. From 1896, the buildings were expanded to accommodate the mentally ill. Today, the Medical Center Sint-Jozef offers therapy to people with problems so that they learn to (re) integrate into society.
