This area was sold in 1928 by Henri Crombez to n.v. Simli (Société Immobilière et Mobilière du Littoral), whose headquarters was located in Brussels (entirely French-speaking). Edmond Kamp served as one of the most distinguished administrators. This company provided the necessary fencing and planting in 1955, and later moved on to subdividing and constructing roads, attracting many buyers to our “Nieuport-Dunes.” A part of this area was transformed into a residential villa district; however, the westernmost part, namely approximately 30 hectares bounded by Kinderlaan, Louisweg, G. Rodenbach and Elisalaan, was designated on the regional plan as an N-zone.
