Daniel Buren - Beaufort 2009
Along the harbor channel and at the Kromme Hoek, walkers and cyclists can enjoy the colorful view of Le Vent Souffle Où Il Veut by the French artist Daniel Buren. One hundred flagpoles, each with a weather vane, form the impressive artwork that is also visible to the crew of the boats sailing in and out of the channel. Those who walk or play like a child between the poles get a very different perspective on the work, as if they are in a colorful forest. Buren chose ten different colors from the RAL spectrum, which he had mounted on the poles in alphabetical order: from dark blue to purplish red to meadow green. Buren's in-situ work finds its place in the (windy) outdoors.
