Marcel Kint had a difficult childhood in Zwevegem. At 15 years old he was already on his own. And yet he became a great road cycling champion, winning six Tour de France stages, Paris-Roubaix, Paris-Brussels, La Flèche Wallonne and Ghent-Wevelgem. He became both Belgian and world champion. In those days, champions were often given nicknames, as was the case with Kint. Because of his sharp features, black hair and striking nose, he was known as the 'Black Eagle'.
