In the Dorpsstraat 48, in villa Ter Ide, there is the studio of the still living artist Martin Wallaert. Artist Martin Wallaert studied in Antwerp at the decorative arts school and the National Higher Institute. For his drawings and oil paintings he received several prizes and awards. He exhibited in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Denmark and the United States. Books have been written about him and several films have been made about him. He is called one of the last Latem painters . The artist is still active and regularly organizes exhibitions.
You can take a look at the artist's world and studio and (re)discover his works. You can also meet him in person.
He is happy to tell you about what inspires him and also shows his private collection of Latem artists, some of whom he still knew personally.
Villa Ter Ide, is a house from the 1920s in Anglo Norman style with many original and unique art deco elements.
In addition, there is also a modern area that is bathed in light and forms an ideal studio for the artist.

Access to the studio, where creation is still taking place every day, is possible.
