By following a zigzag path, you arrive at a hidden oasis, the Queen Green Park. The Schaerbeek architect Philippe Serck and the Flemish-Brussels landscape architect Erik Dhont transformed a dilapidated monastery garden into a multifunctional green space, without excessive luxury in this neighborhood. The park is barely half a hectare in size, but because of the significant height difference (20m), you get an overwhelming sense of space and a sharp contrast with the narrow densely populated streets surrounding it.
At the upper entrance, residents of the neighborhood can enjoy a meal for a small price at the social restaurant Canelle Pavillon. From the terrace, you can overlook the entire northwest of the region, from the towers of the North District to the Heysel and the Royal Domain of Laeken. The small park is also a pleasant quiet connection for the many commuters and students who climb the slope from the North Station in the morning.
