A little further from the church, a new cemetery has been built, where two fallen soldiers are buried.
Officer Ulric de Pierpont died of his injuries in Calais. At the family's request, he was later moved to the family crypt on Sint-Kruis. Soldier Amédée Eneman also lost his life in battle. At his widow's request, his grave was moved from Adinkerke.
This cemetery also boasts a WWI legend in a sober and modern-looking grave: aviator André De Meulemeester, aka ‘the Eagle of Flanders', is buried in a veterans grave. As it does not make any reference to his exploits, you could easily miss it.
Amédée Visart de Bocarmé is also buried there. He was mayor of Bruges during WWI.
