Since 2010, the new city forest of Deinze has been under full development. You can already walk and bike along car-free pathways. Riders can find their way on a riding path. The City Forest Deinze has grown around Astenedreef, a beautiful old lime avenue that connects the Gampelaerehoeve with Holiday Center De Ceder. In 2006, 6 hectares of new forest were planted here. The second core of the city forest has grown around Nieuw Goed in Paris, a monumental farm located between Parijsestraat and Krekelstraat. In 2007, 5 hectares of forest were planted here. The Holiday Center De Ceder is located in a park of 4 hectares where a forest learning path has been established. In total, 40 hectares of public forest is under full development.
The access points to the city forest are located at the cemetery of Astene with access via Parijsestraat at the level of the railway crossing (ample parking available). A second access point is located at the parking lot of De Ceder (Parijsestraat 34). You can easily reach Goed in Paris via Achtmeersstraat (limited parking) or via the access avenue from Krekelstraat.
