The Town Hall of Veurne played an important role at the beginning of World War I. King Albert I had his working cabinet in the upper hall. Here, the plans for the flooding of the Yser plain were discussed with Karel Cogge. The General Staff of the Belgian army also had its headquarters here for a few months. In the Albert Hall of the Town Hall, you will be able to watch a docudrama about the story of the Great War in Veurne, as part of the 100 years of the Great War.
