Description

During World War I (WWI), Martha Cnockaert from Westrozebeke (Staden) worked as a nurse in the Klein Seminarie (‘Minor Seminary’). Her parents had an inn on the Grote Markt. Martha was a spy. She kept an eye on the German military personnel, and got information out of them.
