Breeding deer themselves had always been a dream of the Maenhoudt family. In 2008 it was decided to make that dream a reality. After a cautious start with the purchase of about forty breeders and one stud buck, the deer farm became a fact. The animals grow up in the wide landscape, they have all the space they need to graze completely stress-free in order to achieve a natural, lean, nutritious and low-fat meat. After a number of years of breeding, Hertenfinesse currently has a nice range of venison, available in the farm butcher's shop on the farm itself.
On Saturdays, farm picnics are offered for individual visitors, and groups can already book a farm visit!
