This beautifully restored wooden flour mill was purchased in Elingen in 1801 by Adriaan D'Hauwer, miller in Appelterre, who had it re-erected here in 1802. In 1973 it was classified as a monument, donated to the city of Ninove in 1979 and now the mill is fully milled after being completely restored in 1993 by millwright Roland Wieme. The Wildermolen is a standard or stake mill with an open base. It rests on "tars" and can rotate completely around its axis to optimally "catch" the wind. If you see the yellow miller's flag hoisted or the miller is at work, you are welcome in the mill!
