Look up at the poplars in and around the Gavers. In the right season you can find breeding herons or even storks. In the high treetops they have a wide view of the surroundings. For many other birds, such as the colorful oriole, poplars also appear to be popular nesting trees. The many side shoots and often sloping branches in the crown provide ideal shelter. The insects that are attracted to the (leaves of the) poplars, are important for the food supply. Keep your binoculars at the ready!
