Her husband gave a notable speech for TEDxHilversum , Un jihad de l'amour , on December 9, 2016, and brought it back to De Afspraak two weeks later. On March 9, 2017, he published the book A jihad of love , together with David Van Reybrouck , in which he tells about the attack, his wife and his three children who have to continue without a mother.
