Right in front of the staircase of the town hall, and protected by the two side wings, is a famous bronze statue of Jef Lambeaux. To temper the young wench's offensive nakedness, the congregation surrounded her with a dense bush. She represents the goddess of the Bocq, the tributary of the Meuse that supplies the capital with drinking water. Strange that we had to wait until 1976 to see the statue of purgatory appear in the forecourt of the town hall. During these long years of purgatory she lay in the hallway where generations of municipal workers could not resist caressing her right breast ... On her return to the square, this part of her body, which had been polished by the thousands of caresses, had to be dulled in order to not to make it stand out from the rest.
