Haspengouw at its best
One of the striking points is the Teugelen Köpke. It is an eminence in the landscape with a sandy soil condition. Some characteristic species that you don't expect here, but all the more so in the Kempen, are birch, pedunculate oak, bracken and holly. A little further you will find species of Atlantic beech forests with many spring flowers and even wild hyacinth. This small population has been bravely persisting here for several decades. It is not known whether the species was planted or has always been here. Of course, the badger is also completely in his element in this environment.
There was once a Roman villa here. In the thirties, a statuette of the Roman god Mercury was even found
