Today, on the square known as De Coninckplein, the statue of the Flemish nationalist writer and poet Albrecht Rodenbach (1856-1880) stands again in all its glory. In November 1917, the statue was moved to Ghent, where it ended up in the courtyard garden of the German-sympathising Vlaamsche Hoogeschool.
