Bottleneck between the Koningsbos and IJsebroeken

We now walk along the edge of the Koningsbos and see the IJsevijvers below us to our left. Between the Koningsbos and the IJsebroeken there is a row of houses along the Kouterstraat. In the Bouwmeeester Scan Overijse, these buildings are seen as a bottleneck because they do not allow a natural connection to be made between these two nature reserves, both important connections between the Sonian Forest and the Meerdaal Forest. Also at the right pond of the IJsebroeken where we just walked along at the Nellebeek there is a similar built-up bottleneck as indicated in the accompanying illustration also with a circle.
