The West Coast is the western part of the Belgian Coast. It is a coastal strip of about 20 km, which runs from De Panne, close to the French border, to just before Middelkerke. From west to east, the seaside resorts of Sint-Idesbald, Koksijde, Oostduinkerke, Nieuwpoort and Westende are located on the West Coast.
The French-Flemish coast in Dunkirk and east of it belongs to the Flemish West Coast, both geographically and historically. With the French-Flemish and Zeelandic-Flemish coasts, the term "Flemish coast" encompasses more than just the Belgian coast.
