Plopsa Station Antwerp is an indoor amusement park located in the Central Station of Antwerp. Since the end of 2019, it has been part of the Plopsa group. Before that, it was known as Comics Station Antwerp.
In 2013, Wim Hubrechtsen, Jeroen Jespers, and Mark Kiekens came up with the idea to start a theme park centered around the world-famous Belgian comic characters. For the location, the group had Station Antwerp-Central in mind, where an unused Thalys terminal was available; within a week, the NMBS agreed to their proposal. Standaard Uitgeverij / WPG provided the majority of the comic characters and also took a stake of nearly 33% in the company, while Ballon Media and IMPS provided some comic characters as well. In the original plan, the park was supposed to open in 2016, but this was postponed due to delays regarding the zoning permit. Construction was able to begin in 2016, and in April 2017, the park opened to the public, with total costs amounting to €12.5 million.
