The Villa Arthur Peters is a building in the lower town of Eupen, built in 1884 on behalf of the cloth manufacturer Arthur Peters according to plans by architect F. Peltz in the Neo-Renaissance style. The overall plan of the estate includes a spacious landscape park and a generous coach house to the north of the property. The Villa Peters, like the coach house, is included in the catalog of heritage buildings in Eupen but has not yet been placed under monument protection.
Peters had his villa rebuilt as a representative residence after taking over his father's cloth factory nearby, and in the 1890s, it was already expanded for cultural purposes such as house concerts. After World War II, the innkeeper Nikolaus Weinberg took over the complex and operated a hotel-restaurant there for about 20 years. Afterwards, the state building office acquired the villa and made it available to the "Royal Athenaeum Eupen," which used it as a girls' boarding school until 2003. Subsequently, the building stood empty for over a dozen years before the renovation into a music academy was planned, approved, and implemented. In the course of this, the building was renovated according to the latest standards in acoustics and considering the valuable historic structure, and adapted for the needs of the music academy. Further work, especially in the outdoor area, as well as smaller additions and improvements, are still pending, and thereafter, in a later step, the property is to be ultimately taken over by the city of Eupen.
