Pedestrian bridge over the river Waardammebeek Kampveld

Footbridge over the Waardammebeek at Kampveld. The Flemish government's Natuur en Bos has had two new bridges built in the floodable valley of the Rivierbeek. It concerns steel lacquered arch bridges with wire steel grids that were placed at a height of 70 cm above ground level.

One bridge (between junction 53 and 40 of the new walking network) connects Kampveld with Nieuwenhove on the one hand and Erkegem on the other.

The second bridge near the new play forest in Waardamme (between junction 47 and 48 of the new walking network) makes it possible to walk around the forest reserve.

These two bridges greatly increase the walking possibilities in Oostkamp and make it easier to combine routes from the walking network. The wall network map of Bulskampveld has been adapted.

The grasslands along the River Brook remain floodable, so boots or sturdy walking shoes are strongly recommended.

The Roden-Nieuwenhove manor was situated between Waterstraat and Kortrijksestraat, between Wilgenbroeken and Steenbrugge, and was partly dependent on the Burg van Brugge and partly on Dendermonde. It was first a contributing (independent) seigniory and only later became an appendente seigniory of the Brugse Vrije. This glory possessed the higher justice.
