More than 100 springs in Brussels !
The source of the Drowned Children, which is located near the Kingfisher Trail, usually looks like a mud puddle. The spring is named after the valley in which it is located and whose name intrigues many hikers. According to a legend from the 18th century, the three sons of a woodcutter drowned here on the same day... But in reality, the name does not refer to a drowning at all, but to the children of a miller and their family name, 'Verdroncken'. The stream that originates from the source soon flows into the Karregat stream.
