The first part of the Brusselweg is a cobblestone section with strongly rounded cobblestones. This indicates frequent and intensive use, because you don't just build cobblestone sections like this on a normal field road. Nevertheless, the cheaper limestone variant was taken for this cobblestone road. They weather and wear a little faster at the edges, which makes them rounder and bumpier. And you also know this kind of cobblestone from the famous classic Paris-Roubaix.
