The grotto of Jette is very similar to the one in Lourdes. Under the statue of Mary, there is also an authentic stone from the cave of Massabielle. Inside, there is an altar in marble bearing the Belgian coat of arms and the initials of King Albert I and Queen Elizabeth who donated it. Note the beautiful flowers that brighten up the forecourt, which are regularly tended by some Congolese ladies of the Legion of Mary. As in Lourdes, the grotto is illuminated by many burning candles. Why not paint a realistic picture of this cave in oil on canvas and write underneath 'Ceci n'est pas une grotte' or 'This is not a grotto’?
