When two styles become one…
Two artists, who each have their own very distinctive style, can work together and create something phenomenal, as Joachim and KreaShit have proven with their many collabs. And here, in this neighbourhood, you can see several of their murals. Jack in the Box shows how the two artists’ styles converge, even though they are very different. The work refers to the comic strip figures that Joachim often creates and the distinctive templates and patterns of KreaShit – or K.Shit as he’s more commonly known.
Not always alone
You may think that graffiti artists tend to work clandestinely, at night, tagging façades, trains and bridges. But many street artists prefer to work with others. Collaborations, like the one between KreaShit and Joachim, are a frequent occurrence. Just think of the Aerosolkings, an Antwerp crew where every member creates his own mural. Then they connect all the works with each other. Other crews develop one mural together from the outset. KreaShit sometimes creates backdrops using abstract templates, after which Joachim adds his figures.
More street art in the neighbourhood
Opposite Jack in the Box, you can find a another collab by Joachim and KreaShit, which is titled The Heart and Soul of Streetart. Turn the corner in Vleminckveld, and you’ll run into Pastry Shutter, another work by this productive pair of artists. If you walk past when Lints is closed, you may miss out on this bakery’s delicious sweets, but you will be able to see Joachim and KreaShit’s mural as they painted it on the bakery’s roller shutter.
