The name of the statue is the 'Vaartkapoen', which is an old-fashioned name for a dock worker. The docker is tripping Agent 15 up. Behind this innocent joke, however, lurks a raw reality. During Molenbeek's industrial heyday, demonstrations regularly broke out for better pay and working conditions. Instead of supporting the police, they fought them, so the government decided to build a gendarmerie barracks along the canal. Today, this former barracks is known as Klein Kasteeltje.
