Former railway stop (station) Kalf was located on the Mechelen – Terneuzen railway line (MT), presumably located on the Zavelstraat. This stop was opened in 1904 and until its closure in 1952 the hamlet had its own access to the Belgian rail network. The stop is 35.2 km from the zero point in Mechelen. Kalf is a hamlet in the municipality of Sint-Gillis-Waas. It is located northwest of the village center of Sint-Gillis-Waas, between the latter and De Klinge. The core is located just north of the E34 that cuts through the municipality there, on the southeastern edge of the 300 ha Poaching Forest. The hamlet consists mainly of ribbon buildings. On the Ferraris map from the 1770s, the place is already shown as the hamlet of T' Calf.
