Brussels-Luxembourg Station is a railway station along railway line 161 (Brussels-Namur) in the Brussels municipality of Ixelles. The station is located at the eponymous Luxembourg Square in the Leopold Quarter. The name is said to be derived from the Grande Compagnie du Luxembourg. This company was responsible for the construction of the railway line between Brussels and Luxembourg in the 19th century (wikipedia, n.d.).
It is one of the larger stations in Brussels. From here, there is a good IC connection with several Walloon cities such as Namur or Liège. Additionally, the station is part of the Great ExpressNetwork. This provides a good connection with, among others, Mechelen, Leuven, and Ottignies.
Furthermore, Brussels-Luxembourg is also an important bus hub (wikipedia, n.d.).
