Biking through the Heath is a bike path in the Hoge Kempen National Park. This bike path in the Mechelse Heide connects the cycling nodes 550 and 551 via a 300 m long bike bridge over the road to Zutendaal in Maasmechelen. The bike bridge, opened on July 4, 2021, is located on the northern side in the municipality of Mechelen-aan-de-Maas and on the southern side in the municipality of Opgrimbie. It is a panoramic bridge, 294 m long, that offers a view over the forest and heath plains of the national park. During the week after the opening, 15,000 cyclists were counted on this bike path.
