The protected nature reserve of the Vogelzangbeek is located in Anderlecht. The valley belongs to the catchment area of the Zuunbeek. The Vogelzangbeek has its source in Vlezenbeek (Flemish Region) where it is called Vleze. At the Brussels-Capital Region (behind the ULB hospital Erasmus) it changes its name. It forms the border between the two regions and flows into the Zuunbeek near the Brussels-Charleroi canal. The protected part of the valley is located exclusively on the territory of the Brussels-Capital Region and extends along the left bank of the watercourse. At a length of about three kilometers, the width varies from 30 to 350 meters and the area covers about 32 ha.
Together with LB and the municipality of Anderlecht, the non-profit association CCN Vogelzang CBN and its volunteers are committed to the conservation and management of this zone with important biological diversity, largely linked to the presence of the stream and several pools and wet zones.
