Simple cross in memory of Abbot Joseph Foguenne, chaplain to the scouts and guides of Stavelot.
Born in 1922 and died in 1998.
The plate reads 'Ce qui arrive est toujours ce que je préfère'.
It's not clear why...
The cross stands in the Bois de la Borzeu not far from the old road from Liège to Stavelot and on to Luxembourg, an important road in the 18th and 19th centuries. The road reaches its highest point here - about 500m - between the valley of the Roannay and the valley of the Amblève.
