Personnes mentionnées sur les monuments - People mentioned on the monuments (bel-memorial.org)
More than 100 deminers have already perished since the second world war. The last one is the DOVO adjutant Johan Bosmans of the Meerdaal quarter from Oud-Heverlee, who died in an accident in August 2012.
In Stavelot is the 'monument des demineurs'.
The monument was erected in the early 1950s in STAVELOT to honor the deminers who fell during their work. Even a member of the Royal Family was present at the inauguration of the monument. The copper plates at the back of the monument contain all the names of the deminers who have fallen to this day. The last name was added in 2012.
