The cave is also called the devil's cave .
Construction began in 1900 and was completed in 1903. And the builders were the residents of Crupet. They built it during their Sunday free time and almost every Sunday for more than 3 years. We can say that they were admirable and super brave. There is a legend that the priest did not hesitate to offer the occasional drop to encourage them.
According to some scriptures, the priest had the idea to build this cave so that the inhabitants would not stray too far from the divine thought. It was also the time when socialism and liberalism developed. After that, it was necessary to revive the faith of the inhabitants around a pious occupation.
Some numbers:
- construction period more than 3 years
- 30 tons of cement
- 300 tons of rocks
- 700 kg for the statue of the devil
- 3 levels, level 0 on the esplanade side, level 1 on the cemetery side and level 2 accessible from the front and back of the cave.
Anthony is the patron saint of lost things. In Catholic circles, Anthony is invoked to find lost things with the following words: "Saint Anthony, dear friend, make me find my ..." or "Saint Anthony, dear saint, make sure I find my . .. find" or "Saint Anthony, holy man, make me find my ...". If the object has been recovered, one should thank Saint Anthony.
He is also the patron saint of the Franciscans, women and children, the poor, bakers, miners, marriage, travelers and lovers and patron against shipwreck, the plague and fever.
