The Géronstère source (French: Source de la Géronstère ) is a spring in the Belgian municipality of Spa. Its source is south of Spa in the woods, near where the Chemin des Fontaines and Route de la Géronstère meet Rue de Barisart. The water of the source comes from the peat bog of Malchamps.
The source is nicknamed l'Enragée (the raging water) and is said to have been regularly visited by Tsar Peter the Great . The water has a sulfur taste and the ferrous and carbonated water is popularly recommended for respiratory ailments.
The river Géronstère carries the water down the slope towards Spa.
In the area you can do 'ski de fond' when there is snow.
