Terhills serves as the main gateway to the Hoge Kempen National Park. During the walks on and around the former mining heaps, you can enjoy stunning views.
More than a quarter-century ago, the Eisden coal mine was still in full operation at this location. Today, the landscape looks completely different, and you can enjoy a surprising landscape of ‘mountains and lakes’ with spectacular panoramas. Monumental at the entrance of Terhills stands the renovated head frame. You can climb the stairs of the head frame up to 24m high to view the surrounding area from a different angle.
