This small town in front of the Saint Sebastian Church is right next to the Place Saint-Remacle.
Place Saint-Remacle is the arrival for "the laetare of Stavelot", the carnival of the city. The Lætare is a traditional festival held during the Laetare festival on the fourth Sunday of Lent. This festival, one of the most popular in Wallonia, is also known for its protagonists: the Blancs Moussis
Saint Remacle was born about 600 and died about 669, and was a Catholic and Orthodox saint, founder of the Abbey of Stavelot in 651 and first abbot of the Abbey of Solignac.
