The house is full renovated in 2016 and (re)built according to the passive-house rules. Hence it has a very low energy consumption (EPC-7). Electricity is mainly produced by solar panels and (soon) stored in batteries. Hot water is generated by the sun-boiler (heat pipes). Most materials are from ecological origin: it is a wooden skeleton building, insulated with paper (cellulose). Decoration is partially recycled materials (eg old wooden doors).
The house is operated and monitored by a home automation system.
The apartment has 2 bedrooms and a living. Each bedroom has a separate bathroom with shower. One of the rooms has a balcony with view on the bush and the ecological garden with swimming pool.
It is located in the centre of a triangle formed by Gent, Antwerp and Brussels, in the middle of nature along the river Scheldt. It is part of an official 'Silence area' where natural noises are louder than human made noise (at least most of the time). Highly likely you will spot several animals in the garden or the area like: deer, blue heron, kingfisher, spotted and green woodpecker and exceptionally also a beaver.
