This war memorial is located in a small square in the middle of the village of Laforêt. It commemorates the victims of both world wars.
Laforêt is a thousand-year-old city known as one of the most beautiful cities in Wallonia. It's worth more than one visit.
Two troughs, large circular basins surrounded by iron, seem to stand sentinel at the ends of the village dotted with sheds for drying tobacco . The lower trough borders a strangely covered well.
You'll find a church with an oddly colored ceiling and a modern Station of the Cross by Jacques Vander Elst, an artist from Vresse-sur-Semois.
An 1880s forge with a roof covered in "Faisiaux" - slate bases too small to make regular slates but requiring a strong framework.
