This bench is located in a small park near the equestrian statue of Saint Arnold.
This statue in a small park was honored on October 31, 2004. The original statue, made by an artist from Avelgem, was already inaugurated in 2005. Since the First World War, the monument has been used as a monument to the fallen and reclaimed.
The bronze Saint Arnold as Jef Claerhout has portrayed him here is not a petrified figure but a supple knight as a person of flesh and blood. The statue is completely in harmony with its surroundings. Arnoldus is also an apostle of peace.
