Marcel Nachtergaele (1922 - 2012) was a pioneer in his region. This is a memorial to his memory.
When nature was still of no importance, he managed to reach public opinion and to start up a strong nature association and to supervise it with enormous commitment and decisiveness.
Reserves were established, attacks on nature prevented.
