This street is named after Jean de Bohème. In 1331 , John of Bohemia, Count of Luxembourg and King of Bohemia, made Durbuy a city by building walls to enclose it in an enclave of 2 hectares , hence the title 'smallest city in the world'!
In front of this bench is an old trough.
Before cattle and horses could be brought into the stable or out onto the pasture, the herd had to be taken to a watering trough several times a day. In villages too far from a river or pond, animals had to quench their thirst from water troughs (fed by the nearest spring).
