'Au Lion', a restaurant as old as the dam

Description

Near the 'barrage de la Borchêne' is the restaurant ' au Lion'. This restaurant is not much younger than the dam. Before 1914, the former hotel advertised with postcards. Just 300 meters from the Gileppe dam, it was a dream place to stay. The hotel advertised the particularity that it had a stable and 'un remise pour automobiles'.

The reputation of this occasion was not always without controversy. The 'gendarmes' regularly invaded to find adultery. The way to prove the facts was to touch the sheets: if they were still warm, it was because the lovers had been interrupted in their ecstasy of lovemaking.
