Across the street from the old school is the ball sports square.
The game of handball has a long tradition in “balle au tamis” which itself descends from “jeu de paume” which means the game with the (hand) palm. Handball was a popular sport, played for honor, in many Belgian and French municipalities from the period between the two wars, but especially shortly after the war.
In 1925 the game of handball was started on the church square of Crupet during friendly matches or fairs. Friendly matches were organized during the war to raise money for the prisoners . Due to its success, a ballodrome was built in a better place, out of traffic, opposite the school. Hundreds of spectators came regularly until 1990, in the 1993-1994 season their number reached an average of 640. A handball team still exists in Crupet, the matches are played in the summer
