The residents of the Pol Dhondtstraat in Lissewege have been decorating the trees in their street for a number of years (2014?) in order to participate in the art of the sculpture route that runs in their village every summer. The theme is different every year.
After the knitwear, faces, birdhouses, butterflies, dream catchers, the Sea and In the Sky, "Free Style"... are all themes that have been discussed.
All materials can be used. from iron to wood, anything is welcome as long as they can hang it on a tree.
Maybe not real art but just 'Beautiful Trees'.
The works will then be attached to the trees in mid-June 2022.
The white village of Lissewege, which is one of the ten most beautiful villages in Flanders, is known for its sculpture route in summer.
