Asse is a town and municipality in the west of the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant and the district of Halle-Vilvoorde. The municipality of Asse is currently considered part of the Brabantse Kouters, while at the same time also part of the Pajottenland, although Bekkerzeel and Zellik only became part of the neighboring Pajottenland in the 1852 edition of 't Payottenland[1]. The municipality is the main center of the judicial and administrative district of Asse. Asse has over 33,000 inhabitants, who are called Assenaren[2]. The local dialect is Asses. Asse is a municipality that borders the Brussels-Capital Region.
