Huivelde and Hansevelde. (note the seated female statue at the street corner, a work by Angelo Tricarico). Originally, the street Huivelde extended to Buffelstraat! Only after the establishment of the parish of Huivelde (1938) and the construction of the church there (1948) was the boundary between Huivelde and Hansevelde redefined just past the church annex rectory. Or how they tried to keep the church in the middle… By shifting the road's axis, they succeeded in creating a serene church square. There as well, directly opposite the church door, stands a statue: a symbolic work (connection and focus) by the Zele artist Danny Smet.
